Some Serious Carolina Heat

Hi. This is Ben from the very much still alive rock band You, Me, and Everyone We Know. Yesterday around 2 pm, we were driving along Southbound Route 85 in South Carolina when we blew a tire . We pulled over calmly and shut off the van to assess our flat tire situation. Some of the grass caught fire next to said tire so I got to stomping that out, upon which I noticed the entire undercarriage of the van was aflame. We hurried out of the van, quickly got to a safe distance, and 30 seconds later...



The police and firemen quickly arrived and put out the fire. Thanks to Cherokee County Firefighters and SC State Troopers for helping us out. This is what the van looked like afterwards…







This is a list of the stuff we lost

All of our bookbags and sidebags containing:
2 video cameras, 2 digital cameras, GPS, 3 Nintendo Ds’s plus games, 6 Ipods, 2 Laptops, M-Box, External Harddrive full of our recordings, $500 in cash and a full tank of gas, 100 cds and dvds, PSP plus games, 2 sidekicks, 1 Cell Phone, Two Drivers Licenses, All of our shoes, XM Radio, All of our toiletries, Most of Ryan, Ben, and Rico’s Clothing, All of our pillows, blankets, and other items relative to sleep.

Basically, it was as if our house burned down but fortunately our equipment was saved due to the quick arrival of the firefighters. In the end, all of this is just stuff and we’re stoked to be alive. Thankfully, with the help of Dear Hunter, Lydia, and Eye Alaska, along with the support of our friends and family we are happy to have worked out a way to continue on the rest of the this tour. This train don’t stop come hell or high water.
In leu of being out a van and the major majority of all of our personal belongings, we’re going to look into setting up some kind of donation account where you might help us literally get shoes back on our feet if you can find it in your hearts to do so. Otherwise, just do us a favor and come see us at some point during the rest of this tour. It would mean the world to us.
